Tax is not transferable from next week! Part of the new restructure of the tax system! No tax disc, and when you tranfere ownership of vehicle the tax is automatically canceled Absolute moneymaking scheme with loads of problems(fines)for people in the future! i didnt know this just thought i would let you all know as the government dont seem to let people know of changes .
dont know if it has just letting you all know !

I think it will be swings & roundabouts , as you will automatically get a refund for tax left on your vehicle where as you would normally have left it on as a sales ploy , I think the probs will arise trying to tax a vehicle on the side of the road before you drive it home. That said the info wouldnt get to dvla straight away so theres a bit of window there ! Either way theres only one winner & it aint us ;(

If a vehicle is sold on say the 15th of September then you will only get back the remaining whole month's tax back - (i.e from 1st October onwards). The new owner will have to tax it from the 1st September if they want to use it straight away, so the vehicle will, in essence, be taxed twice for September. Like you say - only one winner and it ain't us

Total con
You will only get the full months refunded so if you sell a car in the middle of a month you will lose 2 weeks. Then if the buyer taxes it immediately he will also lose 2 weeks.
Adds up to 12 months tax with the cost of 13
Would be really surprised if it does not work that way.

Tax... Sell your bikes to an offshore company in kayman islands and the lease it back to your British company (if you have one or make one) If you need to hide your hard earned money from UK gov make the lease big enought so that your UK company hardly makes any money. Your Kayman account will get ritch while you are "broke" in UK.
You get to keep your bike and your RD might get you some money saved. Who pays the TAX the owner or the lessee??
Don't get me wrong we don't do that kind off stuff with houses, planes, boats, cars etc ... just an idea!
