oh yes I have seen this a bit lately.the tanks with this sort of problem have either had the acetone treatment or they have had the garden incinerator to burn the crap out plus any filler /lead repairs ect.then in the citric acid tank ,nice. oh have I ever said citric acid with a steel tank in it hummm tasty.

This was all just floating around down at the bottom. Wasn't stuck in there at all, I just plucked it all out . The tank looks a pretty nice silver down at the bottom, well now you can see down there......lol

You will be able to get a couple more litres of fuel in with all that crap removed.

In its defence, it hasn't dissolved or gone soft, just not stuck at all.
Doesn't look like the tank was treated prior to it being put in, but it never stood a chance just an inch at the bottom.
Just a question to those who have experience with Por15......If you put just an inch of Por15 at the bottom would that come off the same ?.
My understanding is that you need to make a complete tank inside with these liners ??. If the petrol can get to anywhere where it joins the metal it will get underneath in the end and it will peel off ?. Or is that not the case ?.

bit confused as to why you just want to do the bottom inch , frosts do some stuff to remove the crappy stuff before going the por route

I don't.....I was just wondering if Por15 would work if applied the same as this was ? (I didn't put this cr*p in !....lol).
Could be useful if you've just got a lower seam to seal ?. But I guess you'd just seal the entire tank anyway.

the whole inside of the tank needs to be lined/treated .the por 15 treatment consists of a cleaner to swill round inside .then there is an acid/prep to swill round and when the inside is dry the liner is poured in and rolled around and the access drained out.oh just follow the instructions on the bleeding tin ,silly me .good luck with it.

Lol sorry, I think you've missunderstood me..... I didn't put that cr*p in my tank, my tank doesn't need lining and I do know how it should be done correctly I was just asking if anyone though Por15 would fail just the same if it were applied how this cr*p was.....

It in theory should stick regardless of coverage.
There will always be an edge around the filler hole and the fuel tap hole and screws

I put pictures up of my tank liner experiences. Any ideas where they have gone? Why would anyone want to delete them?
