Hi all,
I have bleed the frond brakes on my YPVS F1, took 5 hours to get the air out and now I have the pads making contact with the disc, but my lever is spongy. There is some pressure building up on the lever but if I press hard it goes all the way to the throttle grip.
Now I have read a lot on here about bleeding techniques and gone try some to see, but I have a question, The bike is strapped on the bench and I cannot move the frond end the master cyl is sitting tilted, does this have any affect on bleeding???
Thanks
Kostas

Have you tried cable tying the lever back overnight with the reservoir cap off ? Not yet Headcoats, But will try as its quite painless. Read a lot of different ways, 1. pumping-holding with strap-relieving press from nipple-and let sit. 2. pumping-holding with strap-let it sit. 3. pumping-finding a sweet spot the allows air to vent from cap-strap-letting it sit. (don't get this to be honest) Which one your vote for.. Kostas

I tried everythin on my N2, vacuum bleeder, reverse bleeding with a syringe, so other halfords gadget with a one way valveā¦
In the end I just used the standard "open bleed nipple, squeeze lever, close bleed nipple, release lever, repeat until you get a firm lever " method. This worked after about 15 minutes.
I think swearing it the bike while you're doing it is also a factor (worked for me!)

Swearing is the key to all brake bleeding for sure!
Try a vac bleeder or a big syringe Kostas. you should be able to draw the fluid through and have few airbubbles like that. wrap the bleed nipple threads in PTFE tape as well, it will help not give you false air bubbles and also keep the suction up.
Tying the lever to the bar is always useful. I do it always now, it gets the last of the air out.

reverse bleeding always works - but.. if you are using new lines then there will be lots of Air bubbles attached to the insides of the lines. So as Jonw says, tie up the lever afterwards. a tilted M/Cylinder should be ok as long as its not toooo tilted to expose the ports in the reservior where it draws the fluid in / out.
swearing is also helpful!
