Will soaking the chain in petrol harm it in any way?
I left mine to soak for a couple of weeks and now it has gone stiff at some links...

Can't afford damaging the engine again by a broken chain. It is just the the sprockets and chain look like new.. But I will have to bin it just to be on the safe side. Norbos shop says the chain is 106 links, is this correct? Does the have to do with how many teeth the sprockets have? Anyone knows about this? Kostas

Chain relies on pressure injected into the rollers, grease, during manufacture. O rings do a good job of retaining that assembly grease, consequently O ring chains live lots longer. Gasoline removes/dissolves grease = Instant Garbage.
