Mate. I've had allsorts of electrical issues, especially with the indicators. basically its their age! makes sure before you head off to eBay that you've taken all connector's off, cleaned as much as possible and squirt some WD in. I thought I needed to purchase loads, turned out time and care is all that's required.

I had my loom put on the side while rebuilding my bike and after reconnecting it nothing worked!!
Turns out almost 2 years on the shelf crated a fine film of corrosion on the connectors. I cleaned it up with with contact cleaner everything came back to life.

The self cancelling unit is usually quite reliable. It's a timer but is also controlled by the reed switch in the speedo so check wires/connections there. From memory the timer and distance counter[reed switch] must both elapse to cancel the indicators.

When my cancelling unit went west the indicators came on & stayed on with no flash, disconnected it & all ok except of course no self cancel so I'd guess yours isn't receiving a signal from the reed switch. Do you really need the self cancel feature?

There is your problem, yellow/green lead from indicator relay plug will be connected to a black loom lead, disconnect this black lead & connect yellow/green that you have found unconnected. Leave black wire loose. OEB
