they will go over £250. I paid £9 for almost same looking pattern ones. Its extreme imho. Just pedals and god help if someone took a spanner to them. I would be gutted.

A pair hit over £360.00 tut her day.... Reserve not met ! FFS I bid £360 as I thought it was just about the right price, only trouble was the staff nurse caught me with my phone and promptly confiscated it. No chance of bidding now as I'm in a straight jacket as punishment for having contact with the outside world.

No chance of bidding now as I'm in a straight jacket as punishment for having contact with the outside world. I put a max bid of £450 but my credit card provider cancelled my card, they said they thought it had been stolen as the usual pattern of £5 here and £2.75 there had changed !

I had 40 of them before I was 17, never paid more than £50 and they all came shagged out, can't see that 35 years will have made them any better.

Just thinking if all other fizzy parts were inflated by the same percentage then the average fizzy today would be be worth around £947,231,22p bargain !!

Crazy. We all took the pedals off our fizzes and threw them in the cut.

I think the message from this is that there are plenty of blokes around (probably in their 40's/50's) with sh*t loads of money (far more than they have sense)! Who are these people, because I certainly don't know any??

Forgot to say...I've sold a few YPVS bits on Ebay, including a brand new cylinder head with all the attached parts which went for £186. I would have said that was about the right price, so how the hell can a pair of pedals for a 50 go for over twice as much as a cylinder head for a 350?? Does this mean that a Fizzie is way more desirable than a Powervalve? Surely not

I am somewhat confused and maybe don't understand eBay rules. It has ended with 76 bids and went up to £411.50. Then he has re-listed them, currently 8 bidders at £205??? Wasn't £411.50 enough for them then?

I really don't get the fizzy thing. I had 3 of the f**kers in my distant teens, but i wouldn't pay 400 quid for a whole mint bike, let alone some pedals!! Each to their own I guess.

Ah thanks Steve, got it. I missed that bit. Yes total greed. Although not bike related I would like to add, I learned my lesson by getting my fingers burned on eBay. Although I live in China now, I lived in the UK in a small Victorian semi. I wanted a new bath and keeping it in style with my 1840 cottage I bought a small Victorian rolled top bath. It was estimated to be 120 to 130 years old. I knew the old demolished house it came from so it's date was quite accurate. I paid £250 for it and got it professionally re-enamelled as it was in poor condition. This cost another £950. I kept it well wrapped until I could sort out the whole bathroom, but before I got around to doing it the decision to move to China came up. I didn't think to take it with me, but now wish I had. It was a rare size and shape and a very collectable item. I knew it would make money for sure. I wasn't going to get rich, but for once I would make a small profit. Knowing this rare item would probably fetch a good price and not having a greedy nature I put it up to include free delivery. To get the bidding going I put no reserve, £200 starting price. It went on eBay for a week and only one person bid. I was gutted. I should not have used eBay but used an antique auction house. As a result of trying to make a bit of money, the bath that has set me back £1200, went for £200 on eBay and it cost me £70 to send it as it was heavy cast iron. Lesson learned. Just agree on a fair price in the beginning.

These days when I sell unwanted parts on ebay I will have a look to see what they sell for on ebay on average and then put mine on at a buy it now price below the average, that way I am happy and the parts usually sell quickly rather than holding out for a daft price.
