Hi, need to line a tank that's got rusty bits inside , it's solid and doesn't leak also has good paint on outside , but rust is always getting through into carbs and blocking up fuel filter, what's best kit to buy ? Cheers.

Fill it with vinegar for a couple of days, filter it and put it back in,revolted it till no rust left.tank will end up like new inside. Take petrol tap off put a bag over it and refit to protect it or fit a spare tap. Do a search...

citric acid solution will also clean the rust out.you can get the stuff off ebay.think homebrew shops sell it as well.when you have finished with the stuff it can go down the drain its also a descaler.

I used stones, vinegar and coke, kettle descaler then used Rustbusters Slosh kit, worked brill for a year, but knocked it with petrol filling nozzel a couple of times and a few bits lifted, no leaks, sort of lines the tank what looks like apoxy resin, did not ever dissolve or block any filters.

Have been told brick (acid) cleaner brings it up like new as well , tried some stones but spent the hours trying to get them out again ,

Personally I would not line it unless it is really really bad..use vinegar as shane250 says..or if you are as a last resort..use por15 is probably the best..just follow instructions to the letter..and DONT use kreem..from past experience

you need to neutralize the vinegar pretty quick after you drain it.I filled mine with water then dried it and then stuck some 2 stroke oil in but the oil took some getting rid of so id probably go with a normal premix on the first tank full.

This was far from my first filter,it took loads of filtering to get rid of all the loose rust in the tank.

I emptied it from the tank into a washing up bowl then filtered it back into the tank through the T shirt into a funnel.
