some of the newer bearings have longer pins these days, you have 4 choices if they are
1. Trim the pin with a dremel or file - but make sure you keep the filings away from the crank etc 2. make the locating hole slightly larger in the crank casing 3. Try tapping the pin further into the bearing 4. Hit the pin with a brass drift to make it locate into the crank casing

hi ,make the recess in the casing for the pin a little bigger for the pin.it may be a bearing from a Suzuki.i have seen a crank with all the pins squashed flat in the casing.

Thanks for the answers the pin is fully home so I think I'll trim it,but that means this isn't the crank out of this engine ,never mind it's in good nick

Do you know if the crank has been rebuilt? I had the same thing when I got my crank back from Grampians a few years ago. Seem to remember they said that they drill their own bearings for the locating pin when I spoke to them. I carefully filed the end of the pin so it sat in the cases making sure I covered the bearings to stop any filings getting in the bearings.

yes Grampians used to give you a longer pin on that side, which I personally prefer, rather than the silly little nipple yamaha use,ive seen many spin round and wreck cases

I bought the engine stripped the crank looks really good but it has been used as the bearings have marks where theyve been fitted
