Hi Everybody, my name is Paul and this is my RD 500 last used at 2-stroke Sunday approximately 3 years ago. I took it off the road because things were starting to deteriorate and had not got the time to start the project of restoring it because I already had a 350LC project on the go. Halfway through my 350 project my 250 LC engine seized so needed to get this sorted and finish the 350 off. I stripped the 500 about 6 months ago, took lots of detailed photos and since then we got burgled and the laptop was stolen with all the photos on. But here goes with my restoration. This is a picture of me in 1984 on my original 500, bought from new from Devimeads in Tamworth. As most of us,I ma heavier and balder but still just as keen on 2-strokes!

This is going to be a beauty.
After hearing the rg500's today at goodwood I think my next bike may have to be a 500 two stroke..

That's going to be nice. Wish I wasn't so impatient when I built my 350. Also didn't know fastline did vapour blasting, may have to pay a visit as they are just down the road from me.

Nice paintwork
Are you taking the top case and barrel studs out to replate?
As these engines are so heavy are you going to build the engine up in the frame or fit it when complete?
