Any opinions on the 50 degree stat or the 70 degree stat is there any benefit or is it just bling (I like bling)

i was told that the best temp for a two stroke to run at was 50 - 60 degrees. think the higher temp is more to do with emissions, not best power.
i run the 50 degree stat and it stops the temp gauge going to 2/3 before dropping back to 1/4
with a large rad it is worse as the stat opens causing the cool water from the rad to enter the engine causing it to cool so the stat shuts again and the temp see saws 2 or 3 times. not good for consistant piston/bore clearance.

I think I'll splash the cash ,so there's no risk of cold seizures ? not had any problems and i am running forged pistons which expand a lot more. should not be opening it up till warm anyway lol steve
