Hoping someone might be able to offer some advice. I am an Australian coming to the UK in 2 weeks time. A friend near London has very kindly offered me the use of his bike to tour around Ireland before heading across to the IOM TT.
Flights, ferries and accom have all been booked, but we have just discovered that as a non resident, I am unable to secure third party insurance to cover me for the month that I am there.
The whole reason fir this trip was based around having the bike available to use.
Does anyone know of an insurance company that will cover me on a bike that I do not own.
I can hire a bike no problem, but as it's a loan bike it's an issue.
Any and all advice appreciated.

When I loaned a bike to a friend for a trip around Scotland I just added him to my insurance as a named rider.
Didn't cost that much and he stayed on it for the remainder of the year, as they wanted admin fee to take him off!
Might be your best option? Worth an ask.

Thanks Ventura. Can I ask when this was and with which insurance company. I don't mind if it stays on for the year and I would be happy to pay it as a Thankyou for my friends generosity in loaning me the bike.

I think it cost about £35 to add him on. He remained on the policy till it was renewed this January. I have a multi-bike policy (6 bikes) with 'Ducati Insurance' who have by far always been the cheapest for me. NB.... And none of them are Ducati's!! V.

Thanks mate. It's all sorted. Bikesure will cover me. My mate had to cancel his current insurance and reinsure and add me as a listed rider.
But expensive but I don't care. NW200 and TT here I come. :-)
