hi everyone or anyone new bod on the block - just bought a 350R ypvs today to try and recapture my youth - last 2stroke was a 400E tuned and went like stink (20 years ago) anyway this is a bit of a let down - on the M11 going home wouldn't hold top gear at 70 - flat as a very flat thing - wot do you advise (don't be rude) to put the pep back - pipes/tune/carbs/wotever.

Hi and welcome to our little family. The 350R is the most restrictive of all the valves. But dont worry its still Plenty of poke. You need to down sprocket 1 tooth on the front to make it rev a little more If you get some reed spacers and a boost bottle and Hi-teck reeds this will make it pick up loads faster and rev more and give you about 6 BHP more in the midrange but more then that they make the bike revs pic up faster and with a smaller foont sprocket you will find it a lot better. The only other things you can do it put a set of pipes on it and put a lightened flywheel on . with theys as well you will fined it a very fast and fun bike but the R will need theys to make it a good fast bike.

Hi daz thanks 4 the encouragement - the bike has 21K on the clock and sounds ok on start up from cold so i think it might just need some TLC a good service then a good thrashing (or maybe i do) but it wont hurt to put a few performance parts on - here what do you think about the brakes - mine are poor - more TLC needed

I think you will need to make hangers for the calipers . Its not a hard job i have made a few in my time. It takes a long time to get them to looking nice, but it can be done and only costs about £5 in alloy

norbo says will breath better with em - 26mm std - so 2mm bigger - not too big for bottom end power - plus all the other bits - oh and the reeds - should fly
Glad its all coming together Will the TZR carbs make much diference?
She has the R model from brazil and the carbs restrict it so with a set of pipes on a set of free flowing TZR28mm carbs will help a lot . I think they are one of the best carbs you can put on a LC or Valve with the Kwak KR1 carbs.
