I had trouble sealing end of the pipes when decoking with caustic soda recently. Saw some tips on here to use squash ball or various vegetables. I used clingfilm and tape but still had some leakage. I searched the cupboard under the sink and found a number of plastic spray can tops perfectly fit the end of a 350/250 LC end pipe. Held them in place with some tape and seems to do the job. I also found that if you bolt the 2 pipes together whilst decoking they are a lot more stable. So this is how i'm decoking a set at the moment.....

Was a bit worried for a mo. Funnily enough these both had traces of an orange dot on the hanger when I rubbed them down which i believe is a 350 marker.
Next time I go shopping all my sprays will have blue caps!

On the subject of causticing pipes. Has anyone used drain cleaner? Its bloody strong and dangerous stuff. If it dissolves fat and hair and lumps of shite maybe it might be of use in an exhaust?
