Hello All Thought it about time to start a post on a bike I think some of you will know, RGV front and rear and a YPVS motor. (Not for the purists) but then, I don’t do stock ! Gradually stripping the bike to check what’s been done and sort out a few problems, but seem to have come across a fundamental problem with the rear wheel alignment. If the adjusters are level (equally set) the wheel is on the angle … putting a straight edge on the chain and to get this running straight, the right adjuster is almost fully back. Sooo, checked the spindle wasn’t bent, the adjusters are the same size and the spacers are all aligned, I am thinking possibly the swing arm or the frame is not aligned. Before I go further … anyone had a similar problem fitting an RGV swing arm from an M/N model Cheers Jimbo p.s. If anyone interested, this is a pic of my project I have been building for ever, similar characteristics in that its Very Loud and smokes a bit LOL

Hi Jimbo, welcome to the forum matey. you've got a couple of very nice bikes there. That Harris is a dream bike for me - would happily have that in my garage !. As for your Lc, not a common problem that I remember reading about. I would be checking that swingarm for straightness, if that's a word, and it's mounting within the frame.
Good luck
Dusty

I love Harris's when I was a kid a geezer built one in his bedroom a little further down our street, genius, he craned it out through his window! Still it did look and sound the absolute borrox's and as an impressionable 14 year old I thought he was the second coming blatting up and down our close without a helmet on

If you don't mind a bit of fabrication to make up mounting points, Dynamic rear sets are the dogs Got a set on both my hybrids, they come up on ebay quite often & I got both my sets for around £80.00 second hand. www.dynamicprecision.co.uk/index.shtml

Quick update on progress ... not been the easiest fixes, bent swing Arm, knackered brakes, leaky carbs etc, but getting there now.

Stll don;t have confidence in the right calliper, seems to be only pulling from one side, had them apart, blown through with an airline, seals are good, pistons all work individually, but still not pressing onto the disc evenly. Anyone had a similar problem with these Tokico brakes. ? Hopefully got a set of NISSIN's on the way, but would loke to get this sorted For the record, I am using one of these off the shop, which it says is for "This is a 5/8 mas cyl for a 350 twin disk set up" but is the piston good enough for 4 pots

Hi, Shame you had the problems, it looks such a lovely bike, but at least you are winning ! I saw some NK Racing rearsets on Mouse's special the other day and they are stunning. Worth checking them out too.

Anyone recomend a set of discs for RGV250 Front End, found why I couldn't get the brakes to bleed properly - buggered disc.
Hopefully this will be the last thing before getting on the road.

After a lot of messing about with the Carbs, leaks, split pipes and general crap, got it running again.
Just a set of discs and ready for MOT ...

Afternoon, took it up my mates engineering shop, he aligned the top mount, said it wasn't out much but when i fitted it all back went straight in.
Don't know if this was the swing arm or the frame, but it works fine now.
Not sure who did the swing arm, welds look really nice, guess I was just unlucky.
Any history on this most welcome - I seem to have lost contact with the previous owner as he was having problems elsewhere ...
