Hi Guys
How do I remove the needle jets in rd350lc carbs, as I would like to see if they are clean.

Remove the main jet and the tube will push out into the carb body. they are normally a bit still but they do come out with a push and tap.

Remove the main jet and brass washer. Refit main jet without washer. Lightly tap the head of the jet with a plastic or wooden screwdriver handle or similar object. Needle jet should loosen. Careful when you refit as the needle jet has a keyway that lines up with a pin in the carb bore.

I always a m5 bolt and gently tap that so there is no chance of damaging the end where the main jet seats!

Just make sure that when using a small bolt to punch it out that you don't damage the locating key. It is very easy to do ....someone did it to mine!!!! and yes put the main jet back on before you start tapping (very gently) with a screwdriver head or bolt, the threads are very easily damaged. you might be surprised how much gunk there is hidden there. Been a real hot summer here as well....but thankfully the rain has surely come this week. Don't mind if it rains all week as long as the weekend is ok.

Hi, I use a large "G" clamp with an old jet screwed in. You can then gently tighten the clamp and ease the tube from it's seating. Really easy.

I like the idea of the above home made tool, but for me personally a small g-clamp and a bit a heat with a hot air gun does the job! Just don't use too much force because the carb is only thin cast ally!
