I have heard a lot about clutch rubber washer or something like that, a lot get removed to improve changing gears. I have taken my clutch apart and there is no sight of these washers? There is only one o-ring looking thing right between the clutch basket and th gear which is riveted on the back. Is this what we talk about?
Thanks

No that is not it.
There was originally a rubber ring between each steel plate in the basket.

Rear ring that you saw was equally silly.. but at least mostly harmless :-)

The rubbers are a v shape which goes between each clutch plate to help separate the plates when the clutch lever is pulled. I've got them fitted but I know a lot have not.

How do you know when the washers between the friction plate should get replaced? Mine seen to have some scratches, as if someone went over with scotchbrite?
