Hi all,
Just got around to a better look at my LC and making a parts list....
Ive just found that the frame has been powdercoated and then on the headstock sanded back to see the frame number, problem is the frame no is barely visible is it possible to get these engraved deeper or get a plate with the Number made? I was going to have the frame dipped and stripped but now wandering if I should get another frame as its a non matching number bike anyhow?
What do you guys think?
Cheers, Mike

probably best to get it engraved deeper or if it is totally visibly silicone a small plate over it for blasting and coating then take the plate off and lightly paint to match.
Trouble with another frame is rarity and the probability that it will have the same problem.

Never tamper with a frame number. Just leave it as long as you can make it out its fine and a faint number us far better than a tampered number. Tampering with the number is illegal but a faint number is not.

Unless you sell it,there shouldn't be much issues, you're unlikely to get stopped cos of its age and miles done each year As Mr Dawkins says,it's not illegal to leave as is,but it is illegal to tamper with it
