I saw a small ultrasonic cleaner for jewelery and it said small mechanical parts in Maplin yesterday for £25 anyone any idea if it would be useful for any bike parts.

The £25 will be very small. We've borrowed one from the local VJMC before and that was a 2litre one. Could just about fit a complete carb in that with choke left sticking out. Don't expect to get anything bigger than a carb float bowl one in a £25 one. Think the 2 litres are about £100.

I have a small jewellery type one and its useful for carb bits but you do have to strip the carbs to use it, it made short work of the gummed up TDR carbs i put though it.

I have one as well and will not fit one carb in, but if you cut a 2l milk carton and fill it inside the cleaner you can fit a whole carb in in one go. Was in a mag recently.
