OEB You might be able to use a different key, but will need to jiggle it in and out to get each tumbler into position as you extract the lock. Each of the tumblers has a tiny spring that can launch itself and the tumbler into the furthest, darkest, most inaccessible place, never to be found again if you don't have a key (or something else) in the lock to keep them captive.

Got the lock out and had a key made to fit made a small brass bush to take the play out of the seat lever, the only other thing is there is no return spring for the barrel. Should there be one if so were if anywere can I get one?

Any spring will do if you can get it to fit, just try various ones you have in your spares, its nothing special as such.
