what I find interesting about that ad is that it says its from America, but the clocks are in KMH, I thought they where MPH, but its a big price for an import nonetheless and its n ot like it hasn't been used etc and its not perfect either, clean, grant, but its used and you will still have the hassle of registering it etc as well

The thing that bothered me is that the UK and US bikes were MPH and the European, Jap and Canada were KMH but the bike had a combined KMH on outer and MPH on inner which I have never seen which put a doubt in my head over the mileage. And not even a front mudguard stripe!

There's so much with that bike that doesn't ring true - missing mudguard stripe, various hose clips not original, pipe to footrest bolts are wrong and should have domed nuts etc etc. Not a bad bike by any means but no way original either! For that money it would have to be perfect. Mind you, it's DK so that would probably explain it. Did anyone have a close look at this STUNNING RZ350 at Stafford? That wasn't much better.

Maybe some people just look at big dealers thinking warranty etc. My UK one must be worth £7000 then as many others bikes on this forum. At the end of the day anything is worth what ever someone hands over on the day.

For that money it would have to be perfect. Mind you, it's DK so that would probably explain it. Did anyone have a close look at this STUNNING RZ350 at Stafford? That wasn't much better. I bought it! To be honest there is not a lot wrong with it and it all seems correct, maybe the Canadian spec models had different parts but I suspect not. It certainly does not look restored, it does look as though it has been well cared for but who knows? I think for that money it is a better bike than a restored one, if it has been restored then the guy did a great job! 10800 KPH is 6400 miles which would seem about right for the condition used only in nice weather, remember that Canadian weather can be very nasty in winter but also nice in summer? The paint and body panels are certainly original and the frame paint seems to be correct. OK, I agree about the front mudguard stripe although I am rectifying this but even Simon at Granbys is convinced it might not have had one when new. The bike is 32 years old so some parts will have been changed over the years, personally I am happy with it and unless the owner built a new bike from parts it is as original as they come, a lot of money maybe but with restored bikes fetching £4.5 I prefer this one! With the price of RD500LC's and RG500's asking £10K RD350LC models have yet to peak. I collect low mileage original bikes and this fits in quite well with my other bikes. I had a RD250LC Ian Dyson years ago!

welcome to the forum me personally think its a good original bike hope you enjoy it Thank you, and it is a very good original bike, you can tell it is original in the flesh, I would have preferred to have paid less but as I have said the prices for these are on the up, the others have peaked, now is the time to buy to have a bike worth 10K, I buy for two reasons, one, because I enjoy the bikes and secondly because they make better sense than money in the bank!!

Welcome to the forum Enjoy your LC! Thank you! As a young lad back in 80/81 I well remember the launch of the LC models and the Yamaha Centre in Beeston Nottingham were offering demo rides all weekend, a great site, and I recall in the shop sat on a new LC a manikin of Kenny Roberts in yellow Yamaha leathers and Bell helmet sat astride the bike, I wish I had that in my collection today!!

First of all I am still LOL over Calum64 comments .
Loadsofmoney, welcome to the forum from a fellow LC first time around biker. Sounds like you have a few nice bikes . If you brought the LC from D&K and went to Yamaha in Nottingham are you from the Midlands? There is a good few members on the forum in Staffs /Derbys/Notts.
Welcome.

Yes, I am now living in Derbyshire but from Nottingham. I will post some pics another time but amongst my collection is a Z1B, H1E, TY50P, FS1E PURPLE, DT175D, DUCATI 748, DUCATI MONSTER, DUCATI SD900 DARMAH, TT500, CB500K0, TY250, FS1E BAJA BROWN, GILERA RS50 TRIALS, YAMAHA YM1, TY80, HUSKY 250 MOTOCROSS 1970 and the LC. I just sold my TDR250 recently. Three of the bikes are in Granbys as I have no room to keep them at home so they are scattered all over the place. Some I will sell as I really prefer mint, original low mileage bikes, my CB500K has less than 1500 miles, the Gilera is the same.
