good point I think the after market ones have a plastic barrel casing on but then again ive got one that's not got the plastic case but metal,

As far as I am aware the key is a different style on the pattern ones I've seen.
A pattern key would not fit in the genuine lock ( cap or seat )

Most Patten keys don't have yam on them . some do but most don't so depending on whats on the key that should tell you

Check if it has snap bolts holding it on
