Hi, Am In The Process Of Fitting Carb Repair Kits And Thought About Getting Rid Of The Airbox And Fitting Some K&Ns Or Similar But Noticed That The Box Forms Part Of The Battery Tray, Do I Cut It And Just Keep The Bit The Battery Sits In? (probably obvious to you boys but any help would be great, thanks Jeff).. Once Filter Cones Are Fitted Should I Run The Engine And See What Its Like Or Re-Jet Before I Do Anything? Cheers

K and N's no good I am afraid, they don't like them, best if you have to get rid of the airbox then foam filters best.
Personally keeping the airbox is best in my opinion unless chassis mods prevent it. Simply take the snorkels out and drill some large holes along the sides of the lid will sort it.
Re jetting will be needed if you go down either route.
Some of the biggest hp bikes run an airbox.

+1 Keep the airbox and perhaps modify it - I have "pod" filters on my LC and they take loads of trial and error to get them to run right - lots of work for little gain.

Thanks For The Advice, Will Keep The Airbox, Just Bought 2 Filter Pods (not Foam) Off E-Bay As Well! Didnt Need Any More Power Just Thought It Would Look Better. At 53 I Only Tootle Around Anyway So Dont Need The Perfect Set-up. Why Do These Pod Things Give So Much Hassle? I Guess Quite A Few Of You Strokers Have Tried Them At Some Point. Thanks Again, Will Try And Get The Airbox Back In (took ages to get it out)
