well rebuilt the carbs again for the 3rd time and that seems to of cured the major problem i think it may of been fuel starvation as the amount of crud that was on the emulsion tubes was horrible.well took it to work this morning a few stalls but nothing major ive set the mixture screws to 1.5 turns out and it seems quite happy at this

Oh shit sorry to hear that, are you 100% sure the CDI is good - I've been through similar pain as you and it sounds more electrical. Is the inside of the tank clean, could be dragging more crud in after every carb strip.

Does sound like CDI breaking down. If it was me, I would fit an F2 (1UA) CDI and be done with it as they are much more reliable. You'll need to change or bullet the connectors and swap the red and green wires over but it's otherwise plug and play.

the tank isnt prisitine but not massive rust spots either and i have fitted a inline filter im almost sure its not the cdi and i dont really want to start butchering the wiring

Shit in the carb's - but mind your head on the handlebar Well worth doing the 'sacrificial anode/reverse electrolysis' treatment, cheap & effective in my experience - I've done 3 tanks in the past year. - Easiest way of removing tank rust that I've found.

Just to throw a spanner in the works could it be the crank seals playing up when it warms up

Just to throw a spanner in the works could it be the crank seals playing up when it warms up I think that mine suffered that too as I changed to a later CDI and coil, and had carbs apart many times, still after a few miles one pot died. Don't give up, you've winter to sort it.

Hello new to this forum but I have also been having trouble with my lc. The emulsion tubes were blocked but when I cleaned them it made no difference. The problem was the air jet that supplies the emulsion tube. The only answer is to remove the brass plug and clean the jet with a small drill bit. Bike is now running very well and I am now starting to enjoy it. Hope this helps someone.

Scratching head now got home from work tonight thought f**k it time to do the carbs again so took them apart again then realised that I had put the float bowl for the choke the one with the little dimple on the right hand carbso that was my first balls up so sorted that now started it up let it sit there idleing 10 minutes later it cuts out and wouldn't start left it and started it again and left it running again this time it was running for about 20 minutes so thought f**k it let take it round the block about 15 miles later according to the trip meter got home all went fine not a problem turned it of and restarted it all fine so I'm f**ked if I know what's going on which is the most annoying thing

i had an inline fuel filter problem that was causing fuel starvation , could you put a bit of tube in its place and give it a go ?

to be honest with the erratic behavior it does sound either cdi or stator and you can always punt it on if it doesn't solve it but hopefully will steve
