Hi all would like to say hi to everyone here!! I'm after some advice please. been looking at MK1and MK2 lc"s the mk2 I've seen looks ok, not much in the way of history, not on the hpi register but had its clocks changed so discrepancy in the mileage etc. only had 6 owners in its life which I thought quite impressive! another mk2 again looks good, as above its been restored but looks better with powder coat frame etc, virtually spotless condition, again clear hip report but its had 14 owners so quite high? anyway, long term guys, which would hold its value better, the less owner model or the one with mileage discrepancies?. any help appreciated gaz

Since the bikes are old I don't think mileages and how many owners they've had matter, unless you can find a one owner bike Get the bike that you like the best

Thanks for the reply bud The one with less owners/clock change had me running scared as the guy seemed to know very little about bikes, despite claiming he once owned a lambretta shop? The bikes also been stood a few tears and he says it will need running in. The 14 owner bikes got mot etc and its in use and the resto looks real good around the engine case and has powder coated frame and swinging arm. They are e reg and c reg respectively, both in white. Both priced at around £1300

I am always wary of a bike that has been stood and of owners that don't know anything Two strokes need to be run to get the oil circulating. I bought a 350 powervalve once it had been stood for three years. Took it to get mot'd and the crank seized on way back home. Was not happy

Buy on condition/originality. I wouldnt worry about the number of owners or mileage to much. 2 strokes need rebores/rebuilding at much lower miles than a 4 stroke, so if thats been done on the restored bike then its virtually new.

Was not happy +1 Two stroke engines need to be run - the oil in the crank can dry up and the rings can stick ect when they have been sitting about for a few years.

Yeah I definitely am swaying towards the running bike with mot Does that sound a fair price then for a mk2? When I looked into a resto job, it tallied up a lot more than that excluding the time and love involved. Obviously less satisfying but maybe a use now bikes the way fwd? I do like the mk1 mind as its even more retro!!
