Hello to you all. After reading this forum for a little while now I have some time I thought I'd introduce myself Without getting into deep I have a 350 mars bar bike I am rebuilding , so have got myself back into bikes after a good 20 years away! Having threatened myself a few times in the last few years to get myself a new bike for the summer the sun goes in and thats it again. Over the time I have RD125lc ,350lc white/blue,350Yvps 31k,350lc mars bar. Anyway after a mate at work told me about the intrest in '80's 2 strokes I thought I would get my old 4l0 back on the road I think I will post up a new thread in the rebuild section on that subject I have a load of questions to ask and hopfully some pictures for you. The bike I am rebuilding is a X plate 350lc mars bar. I have owned the bike since 1988 , still got the bill of sale. But the sad thing is it was stripped down after some damage in 1991 and boxed up in a mates shed, the shed had a fire and damaged the bike some more so there it lay until this spring , its now work in progress had big idea of on the road this year , but £££ later it is getting closer. Anyway as you must have worked out by now I am 40 something born again biker. Live at the little village of Denstone near Uttoxeter Staffordshire. I have a wife and 3 children , work as an engine applications and development engineer for JCB Power systems , the engines that all the diggers you see have in. For the first 20 years of work I worked as an agricultural engineer fixing tractors and farm equipment, as well as helping on the family farm . This still takes up a lot of my time in summer, thats why bike rebuild has been slow. I have met a few of you guys at the Stafford and Newark bike shows , gave alot of my cash to Norbo already so think I will be fine here! Heres afew pictures of the my 350's from back in the day . I got some more '80's pics if I get them to post up ok.The learn how put text after the pics it just goes blue then goes if I hit enter after the pic? Cheers Alex. This is my lc back in the 80's This white/blue 350 was ace Attachments:

welcome to the forum mate, theres one other member I know of on here that also works for jcb and lives in Cheadle in fact I know 3 members that live in that area, We all like pics on here, open a photobucket account its free, then upload pictures to it. When you have done that click on the picture that you want. the picture will then appear bigger with four boxes at the side of it. Left click the box that says IMG then go back to here, start a new line in text, right click a ballon will come up, left click on paste and then an image code will appear, start a new line and you can write some text about the photo hope this helps you sounds complicated but does get easier so what you sat there reading this for? get some pictures posted even though I live in Yorkshire my bike is in Cheadle on her winter holiday mick and kaf

Well thanks for the help, I tried to get the photobucket idea to work. Looks like I will have to wait for my 13 year old daughter to come help! You should have had a pic of a 31k power valve just bigger than the one below. I will try agian tommorrow. I go to insert image icon copy the address in the url bar ,this then puts a little block with balloons?on the screen then right click on the box aand click paste? i then get a load of text but not a real pic? what I done wrong? Thanks Alex.

Welcome Farmboy, I too live in your area, just up the road, Meir Park. As a few guys have said, a few of us are in the area and are on the forum. So ask away and get the LC on the road again. Owning an LC has enabled the majority of us to have to rebuild the thing so you are not alone fella. Nice LC you have there as well.

Denzil, I was the guy who come talking to you at the spring Stafford show if you can remember. Its the black 350 I am rebuilding at the moment , the white lc has Stoke reg number PVT 58W the ypvs had a Staffs reg too A84 JRE.Those bikes are long gone. The black lc was brought from T&D motorcycles in Leyland Lancs back in 1988. I would love that white lc back I had A LOT of fun on that bike Once I get the picture loading sorted I will start a thread on the rebuild page , I got loads of pics Alex.

If you need a hand with the bike then just shout up, lots of people helped me to build mine and the advice is fantastic and I would probably have taken it to a machanic if I could not sort it with out the help of the guys on here.

I am going to get an axe to this pc if I cant get a hold of this photobucket listing idea. I can post pics on other forums ,e-pay etc no probs. Should I be able to see the picture on the create post window where you type the text ? I can see a load of text referance to the picture.Or will the picture come to life on the posting page? I wanted to get on and have some fun with you guys and show how my lc's coming along , I ve also dug out some bike pics from the late 80's I can post up. The picture above is the best lc I had it went like nothing else. I did use it to go work on all year round when I was 18-19 even in the snow and ice ! It had around 30k+ miles on when it went back around 1986. Cheers Alex.

I do not have that bike now or the 31k Just dug these pics today , just noticed is has a ME33 sport compound tyre still on the front, must have took this soon after I brought this after the white 4lo. One more ,this is the mars bar I still own and restoring I also see its got a black headlight rim? again this pic would be 23+ years ago Thats enough pics for tonight. I have a cracker of a pic from 1984 for tommorow! Alex.
