Hi Chaps,
Anybody got any recommendations for a good painter to do a standard LC paint/decal scheme.
Really want someone in the London/Essex/Kent area as I don't want to post so must be a reasonable driving distance for drop-off and collection.
Cheers.

There is Custom Painter in Hearne bay, Kent Brilliant painter with perfect colour match but he is very hard to deal with and slow plus he is very rude on the phone, its just the way he is. Tel 07904585345 Tell him I recommended you and make sure you get a completion date from him. He has painted all my bikes and he is good, probably one of the best painters out there but the hardest to deal with. If you get any problems with him just let me know, I rent his workshop to him so I can have a word in his ear is he messes you around. Her has just done these for an award winning restorer on the air cooled forum (Dave Cumbria)

Cheers, is he pricey? Paint looks really good, could really do with a quickish turnaround though.

I think he is about £350 to £400 but these not many painters out there that will turn it round quickly. Med on the Air Cooled forum will not take any more work this year.

Alf Coker & sons Edenbridge - not cheap, superb quality & pleasant to deal with.
Graham Hall Coachworks Westerham - competitive price, decent quality & again pleasant to deal with.

So, he's slow, rude(very!), hard to deal. arrogant obviously..no matter how good, id rather have a run in a panel than give this sort of person my money. People buy from people , thats the first rule of sales and service/product.

I agree in part, but on the other side of the coin,a friendly person shagging up the job is no good either.
Paul has put it pretty much how it is,or can be but if you want to ride the waves there is no one who will produce better work.Average work can be got anywhere and fast, it all depends what you want.
Tonys work has won more awards than all the other wanna be painters that i know but the going can be rough and lenthy even for them that know him.
More people might know the RD Aircooled club bike project X.... paintwork which he did.

I'd totally agree with what Paul has said.
Tony painted my 31K approx 5 years ago and it still looks like it was done yesterday.
He is a bit difficult but his work is good.
He does a lot of work for the fizzy guys and runs a forum called Sixteener Special I believe, were he shows what he is painting at present.
