I'm wondering about modifying my 250LC up to 350. would it be as easy as just to change the piston and barrels on my 250 lc for 350 lc ones,
and has anyone else done this
regards
Chas

Not quite, you would need the 350 head or the the 250 one re-cut, a 350 head gasket and an oil pump from a 350. Preferably 4L0 carbs too but you could get away with re-jetting the 4L1 carbs.

Also the standard exhausts on 250 and 350lc's are different They are not different enough that it wouldn't run OK though. The head and oil pump are needed for obvious reasons.

That's just confusing the bloke, you don't need a different clutch basket at all.

If you keep the 250 carbs , dont be fooled by jetting as 350. .you may need to but I had to down jet , its all to do with how much air the larger bore can pull through the 250 air ways , so bigger jets can make it way rich . Something you will have to play with. I ended up at 180 mains

Rear front and rear sprocket too.....
I converted mine a few years back, relatively easy job, once you get all the parts..

Front sprocket is the same for both at 16T. Only the rear is different at 41T for 250 and 39T for 350

I'm really surprised no-one has mentioned what IMO is the first stage of the conversion.
The RD350LC was obviously fitted with a twin break setup. I would highly recommend standard 350 setup or improvements.
Of course there are a number of differences that are irrelevant, like the twin horn setup.
47x also has a point. The cush drive was obviously an attempt at taking some of the snatching load on the gearbox of the bigger machine. If its a standard 350 and you drive it with some respect for mechanical damage you may be alright? Better to convert though in the long run.

You forgot the lefthand headlamp bracket! 250 LC wheels are lighter though....

& don't forget the twin horns, seriously all you need is 350 top end or send urs to fahron to be re lined and a 350 oilp pump and drive, carbs will need rejetting everything else will make it better but isn't really necessary IMO
