Bit of everything really. It was last on the road in 2009 and had been stored in several damp garages since then so had suffered cosmetically. Plus when I originally built it in the 90's, there were things I could have done better. Here's a list of the main stuff I've done: Frames been re powder coated. Servo been mounted on a proper bracket. Control box moved from tail piece to oil tank, made up new wiring and run it direct off the fuse box Cross piece with proper tie bar mounts welded into frame. Replaced loads of rusty bolts with stainless New rear brake torque arm Bobbin mounts welded to swingarm Different switchgear with all light switches on left side (had to significantly mod wiring loom) Twin pull throttle. Made up new throttle and pv cables New forks and silver spot front brakes Rearsets New indicators Dyna coil Rebuilt motor Hydraulic clutch conversion Rechromed rad grill and new mesh New silicone rad hoses KR1S airbox to carb rubbers (what a pain to fit!) Plus loads of other stuff I can't remember! Not changed the bike over all that much, same bodywork will be going on for now but might get it painted in the future. Should be able to fire it up in next day or two

Wow a serious amount of work then Why not just junk the oil tank and make a little bracket to hold the cdi etc ? I thought about it but seeing as the tank was sitting there it made sense to use it. Plus it has gives me somewhere to carry a couple of 250ml bottles of oil for premix

Now that my 421 hybrid is finished, I'm about to start on my old white bike that I built in 2006, so pretty much in the same boat as you by giving it a freshen up and correct things that I didn't do originally... What rubbers have you used for the PWK's to the std airbox, KR1S rubbers?

Thanks guys. Yep, standard KR1S airbox rubbers. They fit the LC airbox fine but have a long trumpet so you have to fit them to the carbs first. Then when you try and fit the carbs you push them back to clear the reed rubbers and the inlet rubbers pop into the airbox ggrrrr!!

That looks stunning Rich, good job. Is the hydraulic clutch conversion worth doing on a Ypvs ?

Lovely . I like the red throttle cables and ypvs pully cables with red spark plug caps and a red mono shok spring they look well on the mars bar . and the red ypvs on the head it all come together very nicely

Thanks again all, the nice comments make it all worthwhile I was thinking about changing the paint but on second thoughts the Mars Bar suits it so well I might just leave it. Next time I go over, I'll try and wheel it outside and get some better shots in the daylight. Dusty - not sure how well the clutch works yet but to be honest it was more for trickness than any functional improvement over a cable! I used the Banshee Billetanium slave cylinder and it has a much smaller bore than most bike ones so it's tricky getting the ratio right. First I tried a ZX7R master cylinder with 14 mm bore and even Arnie would have struggled pulling it in. Unfortunately 14mm seems to be a common size so I had to do some homework trying to find something smaller. I then tried a Brembo with 12mm bore which was better but still stiff with too little travel. I ended up with an 11mm Brembo Goldline cylinder from a Ducati 748 and it feels pretty good so I'm going to use it and see what happens. Only bummer now is I have a black Nissin brake master and gold Brembo clutch side and I hate stuff that doesn't match!

That looks real nice Rich, good work. As you have already said keep the Mars Bar paint work. What front end and wheels have you fitted, it works real well.

Always one of my favorite hybrids Rich, looks just right. The KR1s inlet rubbers seem to add a bit of midrange compared with a straight tube, no idea why but i guess they have a slight internal taper which helps.
Top Job mate, glad you didn't change it too much :-)
