Bugger I have just snapped me trip knob off...
I know Norbo sells 'em but how easy are they to fit, and how much have I got to strip off of the clocks to get the bit that's left on the shaft off?
Norbo can you PM me with a price and post and payment details
Cheers
Robin

I glued mine back on with a bit of ST/ST welding rod stuck in the hole to give it a bit of strength. seams to be ok and now one will ever know, unless they read this of course.

Clock all apart including glass to give it a full clean and lube, new knob on the way, hopefully here tomorrow - Thanks Norbo...
Just need to find a way to stop screw turning as I put the knob on, maybe a bit of Loctite to stop it coming unscrewed too...

The threaded shaft has a slot in the end (ooerr mrs). All you need to do is insert a thin jewellers screwdriver down the middle of the knob (ouch) and hold the shaft while you screw the knob on. As above it's a left hand thread so turn same way as if you are resetting the trip.

Hmm no slot on my thread, but just reaching for the Dremel now, has Norbo's replacement trip knob got a hole in the middle? I can't see on the shop web page if it has or not

Just taken the knob of my ypvs clocks, had to hold the trip shaft with a pair of pliers once the glass was off and the speedo loose from the shell, thinking a junior hacksaw groove on the end of shaft will benefit for future!

Maybe I'm getting confused then but I'm sure one knob had a hole in it. Maybe it was a YPVS one?

The original trip knob, now broken, has a hole through it, BUT no slot in the metal screw to hold it with a jewelers screwdriver. Norbo's knob (ooh err) don't look like it has a hole, I may take a dremel to the case to make a hole large enough to get a small pair of pliers to hold shaft. Lockite at the ready, just waiting for the postie

I was looking at drilling the cases the other day as mine are going into a mito housing, there is a small cog which has an arm that gives the knob a notchy rotation feeling, if I can get to my clocks soon I'll take a picture with some dimensions as a small screw driver would lock this cog/shaft with little force.
