Had my coil repaired and refitted back on the bike. A few weeks latter konked out no spark... Bugger!
Having checked the wiring I removed the left engine case cover and noticed very light marks of the end of the coil pickup. Shipped oil back to repairer who confirmed damage had occurred with the flywheel touching.
Not sure how that happened as I was careful when I installed the rotor and the bike was fine for a while.. Anyone else experienced this?

Hi, I bought an F2 engine for my old Lc hybrid project, and when I started to strip it down, this is how the rotor looked; The 2 little screws that hold the pick up to the stator plate had loosened off at some point and allowed the pick up to come into contact with the rotor. Luckily no damage was done but it wouldn't have taken long. Check your screws are tight. Dusty

I had the pick-up coil replaced on my powervalve it was a little bigger than the original and when you put the flywheel cover back on it was pushing against pick-up coil and it also made contact with flywheel. Soon after i replaced it with a new stator complete with pick-up coil.
