Hi All
just building a hybrid and looking for some advice, i dont want the motor to be standard but i dont want it tuned off its nuts either. I was thinking along the lines of a set of v force 4 reeds (does anyone know anywhere in the uk to get them and which ones would i needs ? banshee ?), tsa pipes and a fast road port job?
I suppose looking for around 65bhp would be ok to be a little more lively than standard
Any advice or help would be great as always

Think kr1s carbs, banshee coils and tsa pipes would get you close to 65 hp with a powervalve engine

got mine from mbd (mad biker designs)
got a set of modded tzr reeds on 10mm spacerif you are interested, had them on mine before the v force's
abbey tune and tsa's should get you to 65 reliable horses with or without pwk's but they will help the midrange.
considering a set of v force 4's and an abbey tune are around the same money the v force money would buy a full zeel

Ok cheers all for the info, and you martin ! . . .got some v4's lined up, are they a straight fit ? i did think about pw28's im sure there was some on here a while ago for sale. Missed them though, i have standard 31k power valve carbs and igintion system, are these just shite and bin material ?

V force are good but frankly not worth the money unless your gowing for max horse power. A set of 28s are cheaper and will give more power. A lightened fly wheel will make the bike feel better for a fraction of the price . even fitting a zel will give you more and cost a fraction more V force are a lot of money for a small improvement worth it if you going for max BHP or just like the looks but the same money put in to other things will get you more . .

Right ok, so i have a few quid to spend on the motor, not millions but a sensible amount. Im already decided to go for tsa pipes after i already have a set of swarbriks ! . . .any how, as said the carbs are 31k standard type, im running a standard air box due to problems trying to set carbs up on filters. Standard ignition at the moment, it will be ported (fast road) and the squish set. Right my question is whats the best £ for £ power increase/ridability, i take on board everyones views and although some things may not seem to add masses of horse power they aim for a better ride ! . . . so come on thoughts please, i have £600 - £800 to spend. without the pipes of course, i do however have some superb and pretty mint swarbiks for sale now

First id fit a Zel lighten the fly wheel , fit some gen yam racing reeds and reed spacers, Id get mick abby to tune the barrels and set the squish. fit HD racing plates or at least fit 3 TZ750 springs . and a set of KR1 28mm carbs .

Kenny's pipes worth it, not just a top end pipe, drive able in the mid range. Keeping the airbox is not a problem, mine has it and manages well over 70hp. Just get the snorkels out and drill the lid. Get your fast road tune and squish done and either as norbo says fit racing reeds or banshee fibre reeds or even go down the TZR route. These are the ones I had in mine before changing to V 4's Bonded to 10mm spacers to help unmask the boost port and lengthen the inlet. Not pushing them but ahem!!! £35 posted uk mainland lol PWK's will help the mid and throttle response but probably not max power so up to you. Remember it is just not buying them, you have to jet them and fit choke knobs and oil feed so nearer £200 Full zeel is good but to be honest mine runs best with near the 31k curve until the top end where it runs more advance but only really noticeable above 9k where it adds a few horses. PV wise main difference is getting them wide open just after 8k, gives a big difference in the delivery. For £35 the Greek bloke on ebay will mod you pv controller to make it adjustable. Personally I'd do the tune, pwk's/reeds and the pipes first, anything else easy to add after if you need it and you don't find a problem to swallow your pound on the way. If you are going to have to dyno and jet to suit you may as well do it only once rather than with the 31k's then pwk's later on. And 31k carbs make good money now. Steve
