can anyone tell me the charging rate on 350lc mine seems to be cooking the battery with a multi meter in place and at 5000rpm its reading 16.5 volts any ideas welcome

That's too high. Try a new / spare rectifier/regulator unit. I'm not well up on LCs, but on the valve it's a combined unit.

yup, way too high, sounds like the rectifier is shot
Maximum should be around 14.3 to 14.5v, anymore and you will cook the battery for sure

cheers chaps I take it there available from norbo or yambits is it one unit rectifier/regulator or two

They don't fail very often, so loads of good used ones available too.
