Bit of confusion as i thought if you say you want an item in the for sale section and your the first to respond then your on the first come first served basis and its yours, not the case it appears, during the time of receiving his number and trying to see about collection/couriers the item has been sold because another forum member called. Whats done is done, I know for next time I suppose!! Ggrrr can't blame someone to make a sale but I thought it was already sold to me! Am I wrong?

If you had made it clear that you wanted to buy then its totally out of order OEB

It wasn't so much as need, it was a complete engine for a good price, I bought a 4L0 a few weeks ago but didn't read the listing properly until I placed my winning bid, impulse buy, anyway the top case has chain damage not a biggy (brothers a welder) but more importantly it has no numbers, it was sold through a police auction years ago. This other engine needed a crank rebuild, my idea was to put my crank, barrels etc on to it, never mind just stick with what I've got, thanks Crash. And thanks brownsauce, oldelsieboy, yogiburr guess I should have called sooner.

Butchers I'm not having a go at you, it was more about the procedure of replying to an ad, most I've seen that say you have a pm are sold to that person and it was my believe this is how it works on here, to be honest I did send my response at midnight and your response wasn't until this morning around 10-11am, I was up and checking the forum from 8am till 10am, but having kids after that time was difficult and when I did ring your phone it went to answerphone, it wasn't the 20hrs plus you suggest as that was from my message to you, your reply shows it as 10 hours so that would put it at 10.30 this morning. but as I have said previously you had a sale to make and so be it, maybe a change or the way a response to an ad is done is warranted. I'm on here as it's a friendly site so I hope I haven't caused offence to you.

Hey Scott, if you want I'll delete the thread, not meant to cause an issue, i'm also building a mito350 so joined a forum for 125's, a few members from here are on it, I asked for some parts and when I got a pm I got an email informing me that I had a pm. Easy enough, go in read the pm, job done. If there's a way to do this then this situation is going to be less frequent. (If it's happened before, this sounds like a one off!)

Not to bad turbopresh, getting there slowly. Fitting the ypvs clocks into the mito clock shells at present, not a great deal to do on it just finding the time is the problem but should think a couple more weeks and it'll be out for a trackday, got to rebuild a set of mark2 forks to fit as its got evo forks in mk2 yokes and the caliper mount is different then just a respray. If I get time I'll post some pics.

There is and never has been any "procedure" for selling to be fair, its a case really of if you want something thats advertised getting in quick with a definate I will buy it, even then someone may have done the same via PM 10 minutes before you. It is tricky for the seller too, because there are instances where people change their mind about buying things. On the whole most people on here are decent - Butchers is one of them.

(If it's happened before, this sounds like a one off!) no need to delete it just keep it clean as we like to keep it friendly on here, don't like the way other members jump in when they don't even know the bloke or if they have something againest him they will use it to have their stupid little pop at him. as shytalk says, nothing to say 1st reply gets it,he could have had a pm without a reply in his thread,it is a difficult one as it could be advertised somewhere else aswell.

I never even thought about doing that to the clocks, I want mine to look as standard as possible sounds like your getting on rightly.. feels like mine has been taking forever! :/
