I can tell you those numbers are the correct font. That font is not common on any off the shelf number stamps so I'm not sure exactly what is going on there but I reckon that's not a re-stamp, but had the numbers taken from an LC case welded into YPVS cases.
There was a matching numbers LC a while ago that had the LC crankcases modified to accept YPVS barrels but I'm not sure if it had the clutch actuator lever in the top of the cases too.

look at the pics closely you can see the numbers have been cut off another motor and glued on if you look closely you can se the glue a common thing that used to happen back in the day

The numbers are not lined up properly , I had a lot of Yam over the years and I've never seen one like this in Canada .

Possibly oem?? Reputedly there was a lot of overlap as the models 'changed over'. Reports of more than a few LC's being shipped with 4l0 cranks fitted and Valvies with LC cranks as well. Not inconceivable that minor bungles occurred. I'd be more worried about it's condition rather than what number is on the case. In some parts of the world, engine numbers are of No interest to the Snivel servants. Including officer Friendly.

Dont look like a re-stamp, its been bonded on top of the original number block (after the original number block has been ground down), look at the side on pic and you can see the bonding nearly covering the dowel hole

I reckon that's not a re-stamp, but had the numbers taken from an LC case welded into YPVS cases. OK, after looking at the other pics, maybe not such a neat job of welding new numbers in. Quite an obvious attempt....
