It would be better in my eyes if it looked alittle bit like an LC

It's absolutely nothing like an RD! Might as well just call it a 350 Fazer

It can only add to appeal and interest of the original, which is no bad thing in my book.

Have to agree entirely with headcoats, with his descriptive profanity.

It really is going to be though, a 40bhp four stroke in a budget chassis with an RD badge. Its an insult really. I'm sure they can make a two stroke that is efficient, I read something a while ago that said they can do it and stick to emmission laws. Failing that a super trick four stroke with 70bhp in a 125kg package with exotic frame, magnesium/carbon wheels and quality suspension. Then call it an RD.

To make it a true call back to the original rd's they should just make it a 250 and under 33hp so 18-21 year olds on restricted licenses can ride the thing....

To make it a true call back to the original rd's they should just make it a 250 and under 33hp so 18-21 year olds on restricted licenses can ride the thing.... I suppose you have a point, but the RD wasn't badged as a toned down learner bike, it was badged as a racer for the road that squeezed in under the legislation at the time. The KTM RC390 might be an interesting bike and this RD could if they keep the weight down and throw some decent kit at it. I hope its not like the Kawasaki 'Ninja' budget beginners bike, thats another iconic name that was ripped off and stuck on second rate kit.

The rd was the pinnacle of the 250's and 350's of the time.....
If it beats the ninja now then thats a trump isn't it.

Utter wank! I fully agree it is an insult to the cult of the original models. A 4-stroke can NEVER be an RD. I don't care if it has 3000 bhp, it's still a shitty ass 4-stroke. WANK WANK WANK!

Stick a water-cooled 400cc 2-stroke in there. . . and they'd sell in their thousands! Engine aside, that's a tidy looking wee bike.

All you guys that were saying the prices of the LCs must go down eventually when we are too old to ride them must rejoice at this.
This means there will be a load of new first time bikers in the market that after having the "new" RD may look to purchase an old RD (because of its kudos) later in life and therefore keeping the prices buoyant.

If they ever do a "Race Developed" bike again, would it be based on the Moto 3 machines? Imagine that. All that technology on a road bike! Then the downside........... A bike that sounds like a strangulated fart which has just soiled ones underwear.
