same seller i had trouble with, just got my 100% feedback score back because of his other user name "funds-for-her" . 47 items all ending within 20 mins and no bids except for the trip knob which has 1 bid at 20 quid and 6 quid post, unbelievable

Sent him a message via ebay asking why he wanted £4.00 postage for an LC rear brake wear indicator and this was his reply : "i am afraid so as all my items are sent by 1st class recorded signed for delivery sorry"
Still to much I think.

I asked the same question once and the reply i got was, Do you think it pays for its own packing and then drives itself the 5 miles journey to the post office. Blunt and a bit unfriendly i thought but he did have a valid point.

well it would post for £1 1st class and that's what I would have asked for , but E-Bay being what it is if he is posting signed for then £4 is about correct I would think its a lot but he just doesn't want to get people saying they don't get the stuff he sends out so has to post expensive and pass that charge across. It is taking the piss that he has to charge £4 for such a small item but I do see his point and cant really blame him if he has had trouble in the past with people saying they haven't received stuff. Just one of the reasons I don't sell on e bay

Another problem with postage on e-Bay items is that Paypal take a cut, so even if only charge the correct postage is charged then the seller ends up at a loss, as I found out to my cost - some of my early low-priced items I nearly made a loss on due to this.
