Hi guys 1st post here so hello everyone. just as title says I was wondering if there are approx figures for a 250lc in fairly good condition. bike is mot'd and taxed and generally tidy but would need decent resto to make it pretty. i know it's hard to say lads but really only looking a ballpark figure. it does have matching numbers and is complete..?? any help appreciated.
It's a bike I'm thinking of buying from private sale
cheers

There is no real "ball park" figure. You have to be happy with what you pay for a bike. One in a dealers near me was £3199 and it was a shed. There is one on ebay for over £5k (import) or one on here for £3k. Similar bike, but no fuel pipe and has an allen key exhaust hanger fixing. I think you should be able to get a decent example for £3500. Ish....

thanks for comments guys and the welcomes. ive been into my bikes for 25 years and currently have the usual plastic sports bike but i had loads of lc's when i was in my teens and twenties and am now longing for another one. as said ive been around bikes my whole life but have never been an engine guy and know nothing about that end of things so could i ask a stupid question please. everyone talks about the rebuilds of the engines and reading through most of the restorations most people seem to rebuild the engine..how do i know if the bike im looking at needs re built??? is it just in the riding of it if it isnt pulling right or doesnt feel right?? apologies if this is daft question. the bike seems to start 1st or 2nd kick each time and appears to tick over lovely.
