I treated the inside of the tank years ago with an Epoxy resin. The resin has come away in places and feels like jelly.
Who could remove the old resin and retreat the inside with a more permanent solution. Sooner get it done by a pro than do it myself again.

did mine just recently .it had petseal resin type tank treatment in it from 15/17 odd years ago.it was starting to lift break up.i bought a small tin of liner remover from tank care products which to me smelt like acetone.so I bought a ltr of acetone as well.took the petrol tap out made an ali blanking plate with a piece of inner tube gasket and put about half a tin in the tank.put the cap on and let the fumes do the work.after a couple of days the stuff was broken up into flakes.then its the long job of flushing the crud out of the tank.in the finish I treated the tank with fuel tank sealer from frost art.

I appreciate the feed back chaps.
The paint work is immaculate and would be a shame to have it repainted.
As a matter of interest is there someone who does this clean out for you?

should have said if the tank is holed on the side in the area of the seam it will need repair which could mean paint.not so much of a drama on the underside of the tank.keep us informed on how you get on.

Ian's website looks very impressive. I have contacted him to see when he is available to do it. It will be around £150.
Thanks
