Would love some pics. As I have an RS 250 swinger spare and was looking at fitting into the 4lO and It's just looks way to hard. The rgv VJ22 has been done a lot and it works, I have one, The FZ600 swingers from the late 80's have been done a lot on the YPVS models as well.

headcoats and carlinmidarlin both have good suggestions.
You mention beefier, but want sensible tyre sizes.
If you want to modify a swingarm, IMO you need a similar size 2T bike of a later period, where thinking had advanced to less un-sprung weight is good (alloy swingarm etc). That only leaves 2T bikes of the 90s era.
I have personally used a TZR 250 converted with loop and adjuster by NK on my LC. The box section is beefier than the RGV (which I have for my YPVS).
If you want something different, get one made. I would think Nigel at NK will make what you want.

I've always liked the Kawasaki braced ZXR 400 swinger

Yeh i fancy a Alloy box section so might take a look at NK.The unsprung weight is an issue IMO with some of the conversions.I also feel tyre size could be an issue on what is quite a low powered bike by todays standards.Tyre heat cycle would also cause concern on a bike with wide section. so my criteria is box section and tyre size similar to say CBR 400 zxr 400. I know on my own bike(Street Triple R & 748) tyres can cool very quick and it does take a few miles to get the feel back after slowing down or a short stop. i recon a hybrid you would nearly want to be on the gas to keep them in the zone.

Anyone ever used an RG swinger with a 17inch wheel on a YPVS? ive got one and from a distance it looks sort of doable... hmm...

I'm using the stock 4LO swingarm with a TZR125RR rear wheel. Some of the alloy swingers bugger the wheelbase dimensions up and I'm not so keen on the box section ones on an LC, it ruins the look in my opinion. The stock one is fine.
If I'm flush this winter I might look into having something made, I like the look of the tube ones that NK does, they're not that far off standard looking but trick enough to make it look special.
