Hi All. As I've mentioned elsewhere on here, I've got a 29K frame of unknown heritage. The DVLA rang me today to say based on the frame number I sent them they've identified the last registered owner of my frame & Reg & can only so far confirm that it belonged to a red Yamaha. They have started the process of contacting them to see what the story is, they will write to them & allow 21 days for a response, if nothing comes back they write again & allow another 10 days for a response. The suggestion is that if they hear nothing or receive a notification that the previous owner no longer own the Reg then it is mine. They also said the Reg has not been used for road tax or MoT purposes for a long time.
OK, question time. Is it possible to identify a Reg number, last road tax period & then most importantly any police or finance interest, from just the frame number?? I'm prepared to hang on for the DVLA but sh*tting it a bit in case they dig up something nasty, I'm such a worrier....
Cheers. Goody
