Is it clutch slip.
Not the end of the world if it is.
As long as it runs sweet, anything else will fall into place with a bit of tinkering.
Keep the faith

I have found that you need to oxide blast the steels, perhaps sand paper would work, havbn't tried it, and you scrub up the fibres with a bit of scotchbrite.

what oil have you used in gearbox? I had Castrol 10w30 in mine once and had no slip at all,i had a water pump seal leak, and when I sorted it,i used some other oil I had,and mine slipped as soon as it hit the powerband.went back to Castrol 10w30,and it was fine.
