Hi all, Today is a good day. Bled the front brakes on the Hybrid, fitted my revamped pump from Arrow, fired her up and did two laps of the local roads. This may sound strange, but it's the first time I have ever ridden an Lc - hybrid or otherwise. I've ridden powervalves but never an Lc. This was originally the £800.00 wreck that had a seized engine, bought over two years ago; It was going to be white/blue, but when I sold the KR Hybrid recently, I swapped the bodywork over. The paint needs redoing, but is ok for now. Wheels will stay white but I will change the rim tapes over to black. Back brake is proving a pig to bleed though, so that's a job for another day. Main task will be to get her running right. She starts and ticks over lovely, not wanting choke for long, but she bogs down a bit pulling away. The pipes are Gibsons, foam pod filters with an NK boost bottle and 31k carbs with standard jets. I am wondering whether I need bigger pilots ? Will need to go up on the mains too I expect. Does needle position affect low down running ? Dusty

I would say they are R6/R1 calipers but I stand to be corrected.

Dusty that is one lovely bike....would match my new leathers perfectly!!....great colour
Jetting mate have a look at my posts on here quite alot I had alot of mid range issue but appears to be sorted now apart from bogging a bit like yours.....I have kennys pipe with gutted airbox.....I have jetted upto 280's gone up one on the needle to lean mid and pilot upto 25''s.....try turning air screw to only 1 turn out it might help.....I was only 3/4 with standard pilot reason for increase...
Hope this help....

Hi, Cheers fellas, really pleased its running again. I insured the Ducati today and managed to include the Lc on the policy, so it's now insured fully comp for a year. Need to sort the back brake and the indicators are playing up - think I need a new fuse box as there is a dodgy connection in it. Then I will play around with jets - I am thinking up 1 on the mains for the Gibsons and a further 2 up for the pods. Carbs are 31k to help setting up with the pods as I know the powerjets are harder to sort with them fitted. Would be interested to hear if any other members have this set up and if so, what pilots and mains and needle position do they use. The calipers are indeed R1 with NK adapter plates and polished stainless discs that cover the blue spots. The bike seems really comfy to ride, unlike the Ducati which may not be staying !!
Cheers
Dusty

Paint was done by Dream Machine back in the 80's, long before I owned it. It's a Kenny Roberts paint scheme though, and a few guys on the forum have them, so may be able to provide you with the info.

Hi, The rear brake is proving a real pig to bleed. Have had the caliper off and moved it around to shift any trapped air, tried sucking fluid through with a large syringe, tried pumping fluid in through the bleed nipple with a syringe ( that didn't work at all), all to no avail. It's stopping me getting it MOT'd. Any hints with the ypvs caliper set up ? Managed to sort the indicators so they are working now, and I've ordered some 260 main jets from Norbo, so when they arrive I'll whip the carbs off, check float heights, change jets and sync the slides and go from there.

Hi, Well, believe it or not, I am now considering selling my Hybrid. The Ducati is going because I find it too uncomfortable to ride due to an old injury, and I am thinking of something like a CB1000R, but because of the price differential, one of the projects would have to go. As with all specials, it's hard to put a value on it, so what do you fella's think would be a fair price ? It's cost me over £5500 to build so far, and I will never get that for it, but don't want to give it away. Quick spec; LC frame modded by Hejira for rising rate monoshock with Spax shock and Ypvs swingarm LC2 yokes, polished forks, R1 calipers, Nk adapters, braided lines, YZF master cylinder NOS clock cases Ypvs F2 1ua engine , bottom end totally rebuilt with new Yam bearings and seals, PJME crank rebuild, standard sized bores and porting, ultrasonically cleaned 31k carbs with foam pods, NK boost bottle and one off T316 stainless Gibsons, cases vapour blasted as are barrels, side cases powder coated, stainless head bolts, well over £500 spent on engine alone. New rear mudguard, headlight, rear light, indicators, headlight brackets, twin horns, numberplate, oil lines, side case emblems and rear master cylinder bracket. Rear caliper has stainless pistons, new seals and braided hose and new rear disc. Every nut and bolt and washer is stainless, everything powdercoated or polished. Paintwork needs a refresh but the tank is mint inside with NO rust, and seat is original and in excellent condition with no rips or tears. I have ordered some 260 main jets from Norbo, and I need to bleed the rear brake. All lights work, powervalve is properly mounted on the frame and works as it should. Basically 95% finished Hybrid. Forgot to add; New chain, Agm battery, new Yam throttle cable, tacho cable and clutch cable, new oil pump cover, Samco hoses, stainless rad cap, powdercoated rad guard, steering damper. New grips. F2 switchgear, excellent F2 loom and components. New rear tyre. Head is mint with no detonation, standard Yam pistons and rings and loads of NOS Yamaha parts. I may list it on ebay but would like an idea of a sensible reserve to put on it.
Cheers
Dusty
