Hi all, from Ireland and looking for any buying advice from you guys. Great forum here with a wealth of great info on rd's! im impressed!
Anyway I have an itch for a 2 stroke.Would love a 3xv tzr or a mint early lc but they tend to be hugely expensive these days! so a clean a 87-88 350ypvs f2 is what im looking out for or a tzr250 2ma.
Any opinions on which one people think is the better option? And what should I be looking for when viewing? Cheers in advance.

Welcome to the forum. Nice bikes you are looking for. The 4LO is also a real pearl, as is the 4L1.

Lol,yes the south of Ireland. I see a Kenny Roberts f2 with micron pipes on ebay,is that the one you are talking about? 3k is too much for my budget,rd's(and bikes in general) are making more money on your side of the pond than ours these days! Id be looking to pick up an honest f2 or 2ma here for 1500-2500 euro(translates to roughly 1250-1950 sterling)

the f2 and tzr are very different riding positions , what would suit your size more ?

the f2 and tzr are very different riding positions , what would suit your size more ? Riding position wont matter so much,id imagine the rd would be a little more comfortable but ive always had sportsbikes(quite a few,all 4t though),I had an fzr 400 3tj a few years ago and that would be I would expect what the tzr would be in terms of riding position and handling, I would expect the tzr to be quite a bit better handling with the alu frame compared to the rd's steel frame but its gonna be less power being a 250. I would like either,i think it would come down to the cleanest/best example of either that I can find.

Hi lcyoungboy, wow that's a beauty you got there! really nice example there! what part of country was that one?
yea I saw that black one too,do you know how much they are looking? It appears to have fibreglass replacement mid/lower fairings though which was putting me off!

I didn't see the fiberglass till ya said that :-)..the pics aren't great..I'd offer him 2grand or less for it..all he can say is no..or ya could wait till the other chap comes back to have a look at his..or ya could keep an eye on donedeal till the right one comes up..I'm located in Dublin but i got mine in balbriggan from a chap that restores bikes..his collection was unreal..he was restoring a rd500lc..and it turned out to be 1 that my dad had sold like 20years ago..still had the same reg GZV ***..was unbelievable
