Hi I am new to the forum & its a very long time since I had a 2 stroke. So the usual desire to have a bike from my youth has materialised in an 86 RD350 YPVS F2 (minus fairing). It has had loads of work done on it by Stan Stephens including tuning to Stans stage 3 road tune. However to get the best out of it, it needs 31K carbs (got them), advance sorting & Allspeed pipes. The last point is the issue. I see that Gibson are Allspeed, so are their new pipes as good as good old Allspeeds, or does anybody out their have any YPVS Allspeeds they want to sell? . Also I have an N top yoke & instruments. To convert from F2 to N with cow bars will I need replacement (longer) throttle & clutch cable, it also has Goodrige braided hoses (2 line) that will definitly need to be longer, being a cheap skate Yorkshireman can these be extended using an additional short peice of hose, if so where can I get one?. Last but not least I will be at Cadwell next weekend, so if you see some fat old git with a YPVS wobbling around the track in the novice group that will be me. Come & say hello. Whoops one last thing & a real newbie question. R&G crash bungs have done me proud in the past. I know that the YPVS does not have a suitable kit & is hardly suitable for mounting up to date crash bungs. But can some be fitted somehow, Im sure there is a way? Thanks for reading my drivel or is that dribble at my age....................LOL

Hi and welcome, As far as I am aware, Gibsons are the same design as the original Allspeeds. There are better pipes out there though if you are after better performance. Gibson/ Allspeeds don't improve much over stock pipes performance wise, but obviously look better and are a bit lighter. TSA pipes are regarded as the pipes to get if you want ultra light weight and performance gains, and look fantastic too; Dusty
