I'm thinking of replacing the carb main nozzle and needles in my carbs, so looking for a bit of advice, 1 is this a good idea 2 if it is a good idea how do I remove the main nozzles from the carbs 3 are the main nozzles from yambits any good or am I better using genuine nozzles 4 as the needles are no longer available what make of needle is good to use

Like everything they do wear, so replacing with new is a good starting point. Yambits is a big NO, ring Allensperformance for gen parts - all you need is the jet needle and needle jet numbers for your type of carbs - approx £45 posted (both carbs). Loosen of main jet a few threads and tap lightly with a small hammer to release needle jet. Remove main jet and needle jet pushes up through the top of the carb - slides removed. If renewing and very tight a thin punch will help tap them all the way out.

Thanks for the reply and advice, I know the needle is a 5k1 do you know what the number for the main nozzle would be?

From engine numbers 4LO 100101 onwards:- Jet Needle - 5K1 Needle Jet - P-2 (345)
