Came back from my MOT yesterday on my YPVS F2 (very hot day of course). I have clear lines on all my oil feeds. There was definitely no air in any of the lines when I set off on my outward journey (10 mile round trip). When putting the bike away, there were some huge bubbles in the feed to the oil pump (tank half full) & some small bubbles in the carb feeds. Luckily, I hadn't been riding too crazy, so I hope do damage done. Any ideas what has caused this? Not seen this before on my bike. Thanks All.

Gravity will force oil down into the lines from the tank, if the check valve(ball) is worn, the oil will fill the lines and all will look normal.
"Huge" air bubbles, if you've bled it well and all your lines/pipes are secure, most likely means your oil pump is worn.
Bleed the pump well, check its secure , with the right clips and go from there.
Ive learnt this for myself over the last couple of months..
Id suggest sending your pump to Arrow if its history is unknown, worth the price for peace of mind.

Shouldn't have large air bubbles in your tank to pump pipe I would have thought. Could try removing from pump end and let it drain into a container until all bubbles are gone, reconnect to pump, open and remove pump bleed screw , wait until you get a steady flow out, then refit bleed screw - maybe worth while replacing washer. Start her up and hold pump pulley fully open for a minute or so to make sure pump is well bled. Then see how it goes. Very Small bubbles in the pump to carb pipes don't bother me !, at least you can see that the oil is moving & therefore pump is doing its job.

Is the vent pipe in the top of the oil tank clear ? I had simular issues with this & mY prob was the bleed screw on the pump was a tad loose

I would fit a new length of feed pipe and see if that cures it.

Thanks all for your advice. Will try a fresh bleed & see what happens.
Just shows the advantage of running clear oil lines.....
I had already planned to send off my pump to Arrow over the winter months for checking over, being as he did a cracking job on my DT125LC one recently.
Might have to do it a bit sooner by the looks of things... :-(
