my recently acquired 350 powervalve has an oil pump with 4L1 on pulley-surely this is a 250 lc pump??, what markings oil pump should i look out for?

You have to look how many turns are on the worm of the pump. How many turns have you got as paint not an accurate indicator

350 has yellow blob of paint on one of the housing screws, 250 has red blob. Bit of a mix regarding 4L1 markings some 350's did have it some did'nt. Maybe Arrow pump expert will come along and put you right.

Leave the pump on for now dude. As its a power valve its much more unlikely to have a 250 pump on it. Have a look at my "A word of warning" thread in the tech section. This should put your mind at rest.

Oh maybe it is ok then as there is a small trace of yellow paint on the pump!! thanks arrow will check that out now cheers

My ypvs has 4L1 stamped on it. It's beek checked by arrow and is all OK (I was wondering about that too)!
