has anyone encountered this problem,,, when engine is running (obviously) the rev counter is not working on my f2,, anyone had this problem or know where I can first start checking

Can you try a spare working rev counter - saves time looking for faults

Can you try a spare working rev counter - saves time looking for faults yea would make the job easyer but unfortunatly aint got one,, so was hoping there was some way of checking

If you have a patten cable and its to short, can only be a few mils this could be the prob unless if you disconect. It from the tacho and it doesnt turn .

Take the power valve pulley cover off and give it a rev and check it moves as tacho is fed from the pv signal.
If the pv's move and you have power and conductive readings on the trigger wire then chances are the counter is faulty.
