If it was the other way around it might have been the crank shaft seal (and you'd be losing gearbox oil). Likely to be carbs or more likely oil pump. How long has it been like it?

Switch oil feed lines betwixt carbs to see if the problem follows.

There could be many reasons for this. Damage to the bore/rings/piston. Carbs not set up correctly or check valve passing in the oil pump, or ignition related.

Could this be related to a oil leak I have on the LHS. If the bike is left on its side stand for a long time I get a bit of oil on the bottom of the side case and it looks like neat 2 stroke oil. But if its on the centre side its ok. When I have been for a run there is oil there as well. There is no oil behind the case and the crank seal looks ok. There is oil on some of the nuts on the bottom of the engine at the front this looks like 2 stroke oil as well are there copper washers on the nuts?

No copper washers on those nuts. Sounds like a check valve in the oil pump.

If you want to do it your self there is a guide in the tech. section, however it does not cover any re-work, or wear checks ect. Fit the tiny seal with a tool that's just a couple of thou smaller than it, or it is easily dished. This will cause rapid wear on the piston. If you need gaskets and seals give me a shout, but the £6 price is not relevant anymore.
