Hi all, little bit of advice needed please.
N2 fully rebuilt with majority new parts. MoT'd, insurance taxed and on the road no issues there apart from leaky front fork seal. Pahhhh.
Have to give it 3-4000 revs to pull away. Excellerates ok but around town etc bike is hunting and wants to cut out but will tick over ok bit high 2000k. Driving along on full throttle no problem but half throttle it is hunting and a pain. If you pull the choke out it picks up and is ok. Carbs been cleaned to with in an inch of their lives. As its an N2 same carbs as F2 it's running the correct 185 mains. The pilot jets are clean with no dirt anywhere. As anyone any idea what I need to do to sort this out, the brass air screw are set in different positions but have not touched it could this be a problem??
Starts first kick with brand new correct plugs from Norbo, new Banshee coils on as well.
Thanks in advance.

Try lifting your needles a notch so it runs slightly richer by moving the circlip down a groove

if it runs better when you pull the choke out it is running lean in that rev range for some reason, you must also have a problem needing to give it so many revs to pull away ,as said before needle clip position ok ? the only other thing with the cleaning of the carbs was were they done ultrasonically ? some of the small drillings cannot be cleaned from the outside

could be your air correction jets are blocked, need to drill out some of the capping balls to get at them, also sounds like they need a good ultrasonic clean and setting up
As I said over those beers a while back Denzil, happy to sort the carbs for you if required, certainly sounds like carb issues, too lean as well by the sounds of it

Try lifting your needles a notch so it runs slightly richer by moving the circlip down a groove What he said ^ My bike didn't feel quite right, so I moved the circlip up a groove to lean it out and it ran exactly like yours is doing. So I moved it down two notches and its miles better. I've got a dyno session booked to set it up properly now.

Thanks for the advice lads. PM sent to you Mutts, the needles are set as per the Haynes on the top circlip notch, i might try to higher the circlip as Icarus001 has said. It does feel underpowered and has no real pazzah in it so if it is running lean then this is why. I would rather it ran rich as dont want to have another hole in the piston.
